| A new school... a new student body... a new spirit, each factor led to the planning of a new yearbook. "The Northern Lights" was chosen as the official name of the yearbook! As the year progressed, the staff for the yearbook was appointed, with Linda Poteat as Editor-in-Chief, Elizabeth Withers, Associate Editor, Betty Wilson, Business Manager, Steve Peacock, Assistant Business Manager, Sandra Killian, Advertising Manager, Jeanette Roderick, Literary Editor, and Lynn Copplet, Assistant Literary Editor. Mrs. Evelyn Tichenor was the advisor.
